CADDY FOR A CURE RETURNS TO PGA TOUR CROWNE PLAZA INVITATIONAL AT COLONIAL
Coral Springs, FL - May 1, 2007 - Caddy For A Cure, Inc., the golf fantasy program where golf fans can be inside the ropes, carrying the bag for PGA Tour players, is returning to this year's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Texas's most famous golf course, Colonial Country Club in Ft. Worth. The caddie opportunities at the historic Colonial tournament will be available for four world renowned PGA Tour players: 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup Captain, Tom Lehman, 2006 Tournament Players Championship winner, Stephen Ames, #18 in the world, Rory Sabbatini and 2007 Chrysler Classic and FBR Open runner-up, John Rollins.
"Our Tour player line-up for this year's Colonial is fantastic" says Russ Holden, Caddy For A Cure program founder and veteran Tour caddie. "This tournament always draws the best players from around the world and we are honored to have these players participate with us" says Holden. He further comments "Each of these guys are absolutely outstanding golfers and have been in the "big show" long enough to offer great insight into the world of professional golf. Anytime you can be one-on-one, inside the ropes with Tour players like any of these guys is a rare treat" he adds. Caddy For A Cure dedicates 100% of its proceeds to charitable organizations primarily geared toward helping children, with the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund being the impetus behind its fund raising goals. Similar to the charitable goal of CFAC, the primary beneficiary from the tournament is Cook Children's Medical Center where contributions go to pay for uncompensated care so no child is left untreated, regardless of ability to pay.
The way the Caddy For A Cure program works is the opportunity to caddie during the official Tuesday practice round of a PGA Tour tournament is offered through online auctions with eBay®. The auction winners earn the privilege of being side-by-side, "inside the ropes" on the range, putting greens and golf course, with the world's best Tour players. The experience is a relaxed, yet still very professional, PGA Tour setting. "Caddies" get to watch their player's club decision processes, practice routines and shot-making skills, first-hand, without needing to share their player's time with other amateurs or to worry about their own golf performance. The amount of one-on-one time with the Players is unparalleled from any other professional sports experience.
New to this year's caddie opportunity is the inclusion of a free 3-day, 2-night golf vacation package for two (2) with Bison Homes at their Torreon Golf Course. The Torreon Golf Course and Golf Villas are located in beautiful Show Low, AZ, just a 3-hour drive from Tucson or Phoenix. Two rounds of golf per person are included in the package.
The auctions for the Crowne Plaza Invitational will run from, Tuesday, May 1st at 7:00pm ET for 10-days, closing on Friday, May 11th. The caddie date is Tuesday, May 22nd. Bidders can find the auctions through the auction links on the CFAC website at www.caddyforacure.com or directly through ebay.com by searching for Caddy For A Cure.
Caddy For A Cure, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that donates 100% of its proceeds to charity with all auction bids being tax deductible.
